Whenever I questioned the monsoon-like conditions that frequent our shores in winter, my late Coach Noel Carroll, would often say-
“There’s no such thing as bad weather David, only weak people”.
On a very basic level it sounds flippant but I’m sure he was telling me that the weather was only an obstacle to success and in order to “Beat my personal best” I had to first beat the Irish Weather.
