We believe in making a difference and associating our brand with like-minded brands who inspire usSince 2010 Life Style Sports has supported the children's charity Barnardos and our fans have got behind us too. By the end of 2012 we will have raised money for children all over Ireland who really need help. By the end of 2012 we will have donated over 50,000 to Barnardo's and children all over Ireland who really need help.
Another initiative that our customers loved was our trainer scrappage scheme. Customers traded in their old trainers to receive a discount on a new pair of trainers while we recycled the soles of old trainers...great commitment to the environment, sustainability and reward our customers too! In 2011 we manufactured an astroturf surface for a Hurling Skills Alley in Waterford using the old trainers and in 2010 we teamed up with Chernobly charity donating trainers across to a much needed cause. A few well-known Irish stars got behind our initiative: In 2010 Brian O'Driscoll launched the first Trainer Scrappage Scheme and got some other rugby heroes involved; Paul O'Connell visited Life Style Sports Childers Road in Limerick, Ronan O' Gara was present at Life Style Sports, Mahon Point, Cork and Jonny Sexton showed up in Stephens Green, Dublin. Some of our lucky customers got to meet the players too! Georgina Byrne launched Trainer Scrappage for the second year in 2011.
