Mens Epic React Fk
The Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit will keep you running. Created for all levels of runner, this shoe delivers on the promise of innovation with more foam and improved upper details for a secure and cushioned feel. Lace up and feel the potential as you hit the road. An all-new version of Flyknit technology is stronger and more durable than previous iterations. It features 3 distinct layers to help keep your foot secure, while providing a lightweight and flexible feel when you move. Higher foam stack heights provide a softer feel. A wider shape provides a more stable ride, helping release energy with every step. The shape of the Nike React foam midsole is all about zonal performance, providing support for the 3 phases of a runner's stride—flexibility at toe-off, a smooth ride at mid-stance and cushioning at contact. Less material in the shoe means you're closer to the foam, creating a softer, more responsive experience. Increased rubber at the outsole helps deliver traction and durability.
The Nike React Infinity Run was designed to help reduce the risk of running-related injuries. In one of Nike's largest independent studies, the Nike React Infinity Run helped keep participants running while training for a half marathon. The Nike Run Club provides guidance for runners through the app. A structured running shoe paired with Nike Run Club will help you beat your personal best in no time. Suitable for all types of runners from beginners to intermediate.

Having suffered with some calf problems from high drop shoes (Zoom Fly 3) I wanted something to ease the load whilst I improved my flexibility.
React foam saves your feet when the miles start piling up and the snug fit across the upper helps with feeling locked in when turning corners or picking up the pace.
I went for the same size as my Zoom Fly 3, sizing consistent between the two.
Firstly, the fit is far from perfect. I find it very difficult to get a decent lockdown and even then heel slip is still evident. I was able to remedy this to some extent by wearing a thicker sock, but that is far from ideal in the Summer. The heel cup is extremely minimal and offers little support. I'd like to see some padding around it for the next version.
The ride is good. There is enough cushioning without it ever getting sloppy. The trade off is that there is very little ground contact feel, and the stack height and stretchiness of the upper/lack of lockdown mean tackling tight turns never feels great.
My biggest criticism is also my biggest surprise. The energy return feels none existent. I bought these as a long easy run kind of shoe, but a lot of the time they feel like running in treacle. They don't give much back at all. On my last run in them, a 10 mile moderate pace run, I felt like I was having to do far too much work. In contrast, when I run the same route in my Zoom Fly FlyKits I'll be hammering through the last few miles with easy. Perhaps as a mid to forefoot runner I don't get the benefit of the rocker design.
I do like the way they look, but I feel that they are perhaps too much shoe for me.
