Phantom Vision VN2- Smaller width size than version 1-Disappointing

I bought these boots for my son after he had worn out version 1 of the Phantom Visions. He said they were the best boots he has ever worn however it was a different story with Version 2. They were too narrow for his feet. The old boots still fit him perfectly...Why did the sizing change? My son is very disappointed!....We went to 2 nike stores and they had no boots his size; 11.5 UK size.....Why fix things when they are not broken!
