The Vaporfly 4 is a mile-eating machine that just got lighter. Nike trimmed weight all over from the previous iteration without sacrificing performance. And the carbon fiber Flyplate and ultra-responsive ZoomX foam midsole combine to give you race-day speed. The result is a more fine-tuned racing shoe that’s trusted from the mile to the marathon.

The Finer Details

• The full-length carbon fiber Flyplate has a higher angle than the Vaporfly 3 and combines with a lower heel-to-toe drop to give you a propulsive feel on race day.
• Nike ZoomX, Nike's most responsive foam, just got lighter. Running from heel to toe, it unlocks even more energy return than before with a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy, feathery feel.
• Engineered mesh helps reduce the weight of the shoe while providing a more consistent fit. And Nike saved more weight by reducing the size of the heel and tongue.
• Midsole bulges at the heel to help reduce weight on the inside of the foot to give you a more stable ride. Nike reduced the weight of the outsole by using a thinner rubber compared to the Vaporfly 3.
• Nike made minor tweaks so you can enjoy major gains. Nike trimmed inessential weight in the upper, midsole and outsole without sacrificing performance.
