Day in the life of a Saucony Guide 8
As an avid road runner I was really looking forward to hitting the pavement armed with such an inspiring running shoe. Saucony themselves have said it’s their most exciting product innovation in recent years. I would soon find out why...
The Guide 8 is a stability shoe designed to offer lightweight support for overpronators whose feet tend to roll inwards when they run. In the past, I have found some stability shoes to be quite stiff and rigid, however this was not an issue with the Guide 8. It has strategic stability zones to offer the support that's needed whilst most importantly allowing the foot to move freely and naturally. This is achieved through a heel to toe offset of just 8mm which allows the foot to move through its natural gait cycle quickly and efficiently.
After taking the Saucony Guide 8 out for a fresh Sunday morning 10K I truly felt the full benefits of all the features on offer. The Guide 8 felt light and responsive against the hard pavement. This was something I noticed which gave me a much smoother ride and reduced muscle fatigue in comparison to my current running shoe.
Hands down, my favourite feature of this shoe was the power grid, a unique cushioning system exclusive to Saucony footwear. The Guide 8's power Grid gave me a consistent lightweight cushioned feel and spring from heal strike to toe off! This gave an effortless feel to the runner which motivated me to keep going to clock up those extra few KMs!
I would feel fully confident to recommend the Saucony Guide 8 to anyone looking for both light stability and extra comfort on their daily run! Coming into the brighter mornings and evenings this Spring, I’m looking forward to pushing my limits and hitting some new personal bests with the help of the Saucony Guide 8!
