I'm Impressed!
Have used the Magic Speed 3's and 4's.
The Magic Speed 5 is narrower than the previous versions and fits tighter around the arch and toe box. It Fit more like the meta speed series (I have/had the Paris Sky) Needed about 30 miles of running to get use to them and break them in. The upper material is so much better than the MS 4's (it tended to stain easily .....I sweat ALOT) and is way more breathable than the MS 3's.
Cushioning seems a bit stiffer than the prior versions also. They will work great for me from 5k up to half marathons.

"They was my magic shoes"
My entire life, when I've gone for runs, I've run in daily trainers (Cumulus, Novablast, Pegasus, Ghost, etc.). I played sports through college and after and yet these are my first real aggressive running shoes. My typical 4 mile loop went from 7:30/mi to under 7:00/mi. Is some of that 30 second drop placebo/mindset/pushing myself harder? Perhaps. But I do feel like they give you a good amount of snap which I only ever read about and never experienced. Very light but feels solid. Only real critique: the shoe itself runs larger than I expected. I wear 10.5s in Novablast and Cumulus for the last handful of years. I got 10.5 in this and I probably should have gotten 10s.

A fast and snappy shoe
This shoe is light and responsive. The design pushes you onto the balls of your feet, encouraging proper form at speed. Not much cushion, but good for speedwork and racing. I like to alternative this shoe with a softer support shoe on easier days to give my joints a break. Love the fun colors and no slip laces.

Solid entry-level race shoe.
They're not very comfortable but they really feel like they want to go fast. Sizing felt a little tight at first, but they might loosen up after some use.

All around solid!
Much better than the 4. Feels like you have better road feel to it and not a chunky block of foam under foot. Leap is very very cool. Great traction and I love the fit. Lockdown is superb as are the sawtooth laces. Final favorite thing is the heel padding. This is my new interval, 5k-half racer!

The best keeps getting better
I have been running in these since the second edition. Each year, I think this one is better than the last one. Well, this one is not only better, its a different shoe. More like #3 than #4. Don't sleep on these, great workout shoe.

Felt amazing, but durability was an issue
This was my first quality racing shoe/plated trainer, and it felt amazing underfoot. The foam was soft, yet responsive, and the rocker was near perfect for my foot. Broke my 5k PR by 2 minutes with this shoe the first time running with it, but the upper was already showing wear, especially in the lace holes and lateral side of the toe box. If durability is not a concern for you, I would highly recommend this shoe. It feels exactly like what I thought the sonic blast would be: bouncy, cushioned, and designed to keep you moving forward

Runs small.
Bought these for my wife because she is always looking for the most cushioning.
She wears a women's 7.5, but was sent a men's size 6, which is too narrow at the toe and too
tight overall. For the price, I wished there was a warning the shoe runs small.
