Big Student Backpack

Jansport, since I can remember, has been THE go-to for backpacks. The first one my son had only had to be replaced because he needed a bigger size after using his Jansport from K-5. Then we bought him the Big Student for middle school. But something happened with quality control over at Jansport. For the past 3 years, I have had to purchase a new backpack every school year. At first it was because the cheap net water pocket would tear apart. But this year- the backpack didn't even last the school year. The straps are ripped, interior falling apart and the water bottle pocket is holding on by a thread. I. Am. Done. The name Jansport used to be synonymous with quality. Used to be. It's the last month of school and my son's new Nike backpack just arrived. I could not rely on his Jansport to make it through to the end of the year- another 21 days because it is literally falling apart at the seams.

I bought a jansport bag similar to this years ago at Ross. It got me through about7 years of school and has carried around 25 pounds of school supplies (notes books, multiple textbooks,etc). It deserves 5 stars since the zippers have barely started to lose their ability to stay shut. I for sure would buy another.

Bought this for my daughter. After a year and a half it still looks like new. Wish it had 2 water bottle pockets. It has held up much better than my son's Odyssey backpack.

I purchased a Jansport many years ago for my daughter for school. My two grandchildren are on a second backpack this year and those are falling apart. I ordered Jansport as it was such a great product years ago for my daughter, that I figured it still had to be good! And we were not disappointed!! The grandkids love them and they like the special compartment just for their Chromebook! Very good space and pockets for everything!

The people who are complaining probably don't know how to use a backpack. I'm a little rough on mine given being sloshed around in hallways and lugging around half my bodyweight in books. It has survived!

I got this for my boyfriend for Christmas and HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. He has been using the same backpack since the end of elementary school and as his girlfriend I saw a need for an upgrade. I thought of it to get him through grad school and right now it is amazing. I love the color and the way it fits on him.

I am now brought three of these book bags, and on all three the pocket holder for the water bottles has broken. And when calling to try to get the book bag replaced, I was told that I needed to send the book bag to them me paying out of my own pocket for them to see if they can fix it or replace it, but it would take anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks so my child would have no book bag for 2 to 3 weeks which is kind of impossible when he needs it and she needs hers. I have two children that have the same book bag and the water pocket broke on both them. How are they supposed to go to school with no book bag? this makes me really disappointed and angry. I still have my transport from high school. It's sad how poor quality they are now and how they handle their customer service.

Zipper constantly gets stuck on upper fold and is impossible to pull away. Very frustrating. Customer service is not helpful. Would not recommend.

My middle schooler got this to start the new year, and one of the main zippers broke within a week of use. I think the quality of jansport has gone down hill. And now I have to pay to send it back to get fixed.

i use it for everything; school, sports and over night stays. I stuff it full and it holds up to everything even when mom washes it.

I bought this bag for my 6th grade daughter. She carries a Chromebook and ONE binder daily to school. The liner between two pockets completely tore - we didn't even get a semester out of this bag.

I am so happy it is back. I bought one for myself several years ago and loved it so much that I bought another one. I also bought one more for my friend who uses it every time when he travels. I have been using it for travel too. It is big enough to put my stuff in in different compartments as a personal item, but it is compact enough to put under the chair in front of me on the plane.

He's used this backpack for 5 years! No problems! Zipper just Began giving issues staying on track. After 5 years of use in school.

Purchased this backpack for 2023-24 school year. Within 2 weeks the water bottle pocket on the outer part of the bag came apart at the seam- contacted customer service who let me know I could pay to send it back to get it fixed (I pay all shipping), would have to wait six weeks for repair and would not be provided a replacement during the repair process. So don't waste your money on a faulty product, and don't waste your time on unhelpful customer service. Should have went with any other brand - not worth the money.

Backpack was bought for my 6th grade son and it broke after one day. The zipper track fell off and now he can't zip it.

I had it for 2 months and the main compartment ended up ripping. I had heated good things about the brand and was hoping it would work.

School started August 14, 2023. This book bag is just over 1 month old. The inside fabric has ripped apart and the zipper keeps getting stuck. We have always used Jansport and never had issues. This is the first year that i can say truly disappointed.

"Peach neon" backpack online is NOT the same as it is in real life. VERY disappointing as now returns have to be done.

I love Jane Sport my daughter still has hers she graduated in 1997 so I brought this one for my granddaughter the very first day she used it the strap broke I was really disappointed I have sent it back and I expect another in it's place with better straps

I bought this backpack for my teen entering high school. Her last one finally wore out and she had it since kindergarten. Her only wants was no pink and a water bottle holder. I did that and then some. She absolutely loved the cyberspace color and all the pockets. The separate laptop pocket will be perfect for her school laptop. I hope this bag lasts her a very long time.

So I bought this bag thinking that it was gonna be some bootlegged backpack from reading the other reviews and honey, it was. So I got this backpack and I can already tell that it's darker than in the picture online and then look and there is a big hole in the water bottle holder. I don't recommend this to anyone looking for a decent backpack. I hope this review is helpful.

Jansport makes great backpacks, and this one came fast. The peach neon is WAY brighter in person than the online representation. My daughter doesn't like it, and we'll be returning it and trying a different color.

I got this backpack for both my boys and as you all know boys are rough with their stuff. The quality is great as its been able to endure them.

this is a no no for me and I would not recommend buying this product.

I got a Jansport backpack 5 or 6 years ago and have used it every time that I have gone on vacation and every day for school. It is extremely durable and roomy, but I just wish there were more color options and that there was a better quality water bottle holder. I am definitely going to continue using Jansport in the future.

Jansport has been my preferred backpack for decades. I use this one as a carry on when flying. Love it. The quality is not as it was 20 years ago, but what is.

I needed a new backpack for clinical rotations, since the zipper on my old one broke. I bought another backpack at my local supermarket, but I ended up returning it in favor of this one because it seems more well-built and has a lot more room! I love the laptop sleeve in particular since my old one didn't have one. I've had this backpack for about a week and it's held all of my necessary stuff plus any other extras I've wanted to take along. Would recommend.

I really like this bag. There's so much space to put notebooks, folders, and a binder. Yet there's still room to add more. Its way more comfortable than any other backpack I've ever used.

I bought this backpack because I needed something lightweight to take my computer to the office. I normally work from home but I do go in occasionally and the backpack I had been using was unusually heavy, even when empty. My wife had a Jansport backpack from school that lasted her many years. I really like the variety of design options available, it really helped to fit with my personal aesthetic. My only complaint is that the zippers get caught easily. There are flaps to conceal the zippers when not in use, but they do more harm than good. It's like guys, everyone knows these backpacks have zippers, you don't need to try and hide them from us.

Bought for my grandson entering third grade. He has used it two years now and it's in perfect condition. We live in Connecticut so it's been in all kinds of weather. He rides the bus to school which I find to be hard on backpacks. Uses it to transport his Chromebook too.Just couldn't believe it's condition when I picked him up the other day.
