Incredible Energy Return/Shock Absorption
I am 64 years old, a U.S. Army Military Police veteran who still loves to run. These are the most incredible running shoes I have ever worn! The technology that went into developing these sneakers is A-1! The energy return prevents most of the shock from going of your legs and they are incredibly light. I plan on buying a second pair-hopefully in black! Well done Saucony!

More forefront cushion than Pro 4. Overall excellent shoe for lite weight speed and training.

Awesome plate and foam combo
These are great from marathon to threshold pace. While they are responsive and have a great carbon plate, the foam also allows you to enjoy the shoe during your recovery. The tongue is nice and stretchy, gives the shoe a fitted sock feel. Really enjoyed my runs in them.

Great Shoe!
First carbon platted shoe, so not much to compare them to, but they're great! I'm very happy with them and the color way is sick!

Still a Pro
Yes the heel collar is a little high but it does break in. I think it adds to the stability which is why I love the Pro's. I ran 3 marathons in the 4's and have had 4 pairs. I bought the 5's and they are great. I taped my heel on my 20 mile long runs and had no issues. They are slightly more stable than the 4's and that is what I want. A responsive marathon ready shoe that is stable and NO BLISTERS!!! I have tried every other brand and I don't know whose feet they fit but Saucony is the GOAT for fit. I am running LA Marathon on Sunday and will be wearing these shoes. If I have any issues I will update the review but like I said I already did 20 miles a couple times during training and with a bit of tape or a band aid on the heel I had zero issues. I think they are broken in and won't have an issue but I will be cautious and tape the back of my heel. They also have extra foam at the connection between the upper and the midsole which I think will add to the durability of the shoe. I had issues with the 4's tearing at the upper and midsole (check review for 4's). Hopefully this change will add to durability. I also have the speed 5's and these are a bit snappier but the speeds are a good 2nd if you are budget conscious.

Best shoe on the market
Been running in Endorphin Pros since they first came out. Best running shoe on the market, this one is the best iteration yet. The shoe handles my wide feet well where other brands dont.

good for triathlon but a few modifications needed
most traditional/stable feel for the "carbon shoes" I've tried. (and I've tried just about all of them) having a full sole and not a cut away heel like many of them do feels good. The stretchy one piece upper fits a wide foot well. I primarily use for triathlon and running sockless so the stretchy one piece upper is great for that too. But presents a few more issues to deal with.... The tab on top of the heel sink was too high and stiff for me causing rubbing on my achilleas so I cut it down about 1" and folded the felt over the back then super glued it. problem solved. I also have large knuckles over both my big toes and the lacing seam hits right on top of it so I re-laced it to skip the lower holes. There also is a notable seam between the upper and the lacing area that rubbed on top of my knuckle and caused a blister. So I placed a patch of moleskin over that area on the inside and I think that will solve it but more testing to be done still yet. I also have been testing dry intentionally to observe any hotspots but I usually add baby powder periodically and before each race so I think that will help with that rubbing also but more testing to be done yet...

Good to go
I have been a longtime Saucony supported and specifically the endorphin pro and original elite. I've gone through at least 10 pairs of pros in their various iterations.

The Pro 5 is exactly what you would expect from this lineup, fast and stable.

Perfect for tempo, interval and race day (Pending on distance).
