Best Trail Shoe for Subfreezing Temps out there
I am super impressed with the performance of this shoe and it is exactly what I was looking for! I own several pairs of top-tier trail running shoes, and they are all fantastic shoes in moderate temperatures, but once the temp falls below freezing, they become completely different shoes. Their midsole foam becomes stiff and they are less bouncy. So I was looking for a trail shoe that I could run in subfreezing temperatures and not lose any responsiveness or bounce. The Ride TR2 is that shoe! There is no perceptible increase in stiffness when the temperatures get crazy cold. And for my needs, that one fact outweighs any minor criticisms of the shoe. I also feel like the shoe is way more stable on uneven/rough terrain than people give it credit for. On my first run, I took them 12 miles on rocky/mountainous single track. I had zero stability issues, zero grip issues, zero rock bruising, and zero rubbing or lock-down issues. When people state things like the Ride TR2 isn't stable enough for anything beyond manicured gravel trails, it makes me think they've been wearing shoes with extremely wide platforms and heel cradles for too long. In my own experience, maximalist shoes cause my ankles to relax more over time. Then when I switch back to trimmed down technical shoes, I'm more likely to roll my ankle. Not because the shoes are inherently less "stable," but because I'm not locking my ankle as much as I used to. I feel like this applies to the Ride TR2 as well. The platform is plenty stable for running on uneven terrain (or even bombing down mountains), as long as the runner has experience running on the more traditional, narrow platform. One minor detail is I think a 6mm drop would give it slightly more versatility on the trail, but the 8mm makes sense if you're thinking about it as a shoe that road runners can use to transition to the trail. And it's the perfect shoe for that.

2nd Pair (Because I Liked The 1st Pair So Much)
Bought my 1st pair about a month ago and liked them so much I ordered a 2nd "back up" pair. Super comfortable, great arch support and love the Kodiak colour. FYI, I normally wear a womens size 8.5 and the mens size 7 fits perfectly.

Perfect outdoor trainer
The TR2 provides amazing outdoor performance in even the wettest conditions. These have been the best shoes to train with in the PNW. Fit is true to size and stability is rock solid.

Nice looking shoe
Great looking shoe. Toe box might be a bit to small for me to run trails. But nice enough for casual wear.

Big fan
I've been using Rides for a while and recently got this trail version. While I haven't yet had the chance to use them on a trail, they are great for snow. All the best parts of the regular Rides with extra traction and a more substantial body.

Great fit and cushion.
I bought these hoping for an all-arounder city walker that will last. I spontaneously went running with them and was presently surprised. The fit and cushion was better than the Xodus 1 (the collar of the latter was too high and pressed on my ankle bones). These feel cushy but firm, and snug when locked down without annoying pressure points. And the construction feels better than my previous Xodus shoe. Only time will tell if the tread will hold up - that was the weakest link in the Xodus shoe, which only lasted about 6 months of similar use (city walking, occasional running). I bought a size 10.5 M and it feels great, decent width, similar to my past Ride 15 shoe. Hoping for durability up to a year. Also, I wish they had an all black model without grey highlights.

So glad they work great on pavement
If Saucony's regular running shoes fit you, and if you enjoy the fit and feel, then these will also be good for you. I might start using these as my everyday "walk-around" shoe because they are good on hard surfaces too. They give more side-to-side support, which is awesome because regular street running shoes are an ankle sprain waiting to happen if you landing halfway on the edge of the sidewalk. I appreciate that puddles of water won't cause your socks to get wet. Bottom line is they are great shoes and somehow manage to both feel like Saucony street shoes but also not feel like Saucony street shoes, yet require zero break-in if you're currently running Saucony.
