These shoes work really well for faster workouts. They have a noticeable bounce, which reduces foot and leg fatigue in longer runs. They are lightweight, but have enough structure that they don't feel like a racing shoe. Overall, I love them.

Springy trainer. I have around 25 miles on these at this point and I mix them in with other trainers for more up tempo work. Nice shoe comparable to the Saucony Endorphin Speed

Light, comfortable and and useful form vo2max and other intervals training. 500m 1:32, or long interval 4:00 pace

Terrible shoe. Gave me terrible cuts. Had to take off running for 2 weeks. Only wore them once. Waste of money.

I really like the shoe, the only part which I'm not 100% happy is, if the sole is little wet or something it make noises other than that it's amazing!

I personally love the lightweight, racer like upper for cool runs in the summer. This shoe reflects a lot of similar dimensions of the Superblast 2, which is a strong long run pick for me due to it's combination of durability, stability, energy return, and traction. Sonicblast carries similar characteristic, but with both the underfoot and carrier foam being the latest midsole tech that Asics offers in the ATPU/POE. My only critique would be to rethink the inclusion of the plate if not absolutely needed for stabilization. I'd prefer more ATPU in the midfoot and thinner stack at the trainer carrier foam just to improve the forefoot comfort. I feel like the plate compromises a bit of the underfoot feel under the metatarsals and for this, I'll dock this shoe a star.

Shoe fits and feels fine, have owned several flytefoam shoes, this is my first flytefoam turbo, can't stand the noise when the heel compresses and your foot rolls forward. Hope it is not like this with all the new flytefoam versions.

Super cushion, very comfortable, take some getting used to due to added platform but overall very pleased

Great fit. Bought on a sale. Firmer than expected however after a few miles they perform very well as a tempo shoe.

I have put about 40 miles in these SonicBlast at this point. Overall, so far so good. They do, however, squeak quite loudly when running on wet pavement. It's a nice all-day trainer. I haven't raced in them yet, but only time will tell.

I bought these for my son, who had a smaller and narrower foot than I. He can wear them true to size, and really enjoys using them at various paces. It's just about time to get the mega to add to his rotation.

These are really good pace tempo shoes. Except I did get bleeding in both of the back of my heels after the first run, but now it's good.

This is my first pair of Sonicblasts and I am glad I took the plunge. They are a little snug, but the cushion is awesome and the feel is solid when running.

Single best shoes for cross training, sprinting, weight lifting

Found the toe-less front strange and shoe very bouncy. Not sure if will like as haven't used for a run yet and concern impact could have on rest of body. Have just used to walk a few times.

Surprised. After watching reviews where many said it was too firm, I think it is almost a perfect midsole blend. I own the Superblast 3 too, which is significantly more squishy but I am finding I am using my Sonicblast more than my Superblast 3's. I can wear either shoe all day long, including a short run and at the end of the day my feet don't hurt. I am glad they were on sale and gave them a try, because these may be my favorite shoes now. I weigh 195 lbs for reference.

I have been running the the NovaBlast 5 for a year and wanted to try out the SuperBlast. But the SuperBlast colors are so ugly, that I decided to try the SonicBlast, even though the colors are not much better. The difference in the Nova and the Sonic is astonishing. NovaBlast has great cushioning. Even after 340 miles, the foam is pliable and bouncy. From soft heel landing, smooth roll onto forefoot, and easy takeoff, NovaBlast 5 is a great shoe. SonicBlast, in contrast, feels as hard as a rock, like running in combat boots. Jarring to land on the heel, then forefoot slaps down with no roll at all. Take-off is similar, but hips and shins are sore after a few miles. Just walking around the house in the SonicBlast sounds like "Ker-clunk, Ker-clunk, Ker-clunk." I'm thinking about going back to the Kayano line, if I buy more Asics.

This shoe destroys your Achilles with a rigid upper. I bought a pack of heavy bandaids for this shoe specifically, but thankfully the wear pattern is so bad, it won't last very long. This shoe is a total miss for ASICS and they should bury it.

Just ordered my 3rd pair at a phenomenal price. Just starting to wear 2nd pair. Unbelievable bounce energy return. Really pushes me along. Reminds me a bit of the OG novablasts. Don't get me wrong, I love my SB2's but these are faster and feel lighter on the foot. Roll through and Toe off is very good. My foot width us fine in them but I do not recommend for wider foot runners. Fis true-to-size.

Great speed shoe! This is the second plated shoe that I have owned and asics is by far a better and more natural fit for me and my foot.
The first thing I noticed is how lite they were on my foot. Very quick, great response feel on and off the ground - very pleased. I was nervous about the grip, but I have had no traction issues.

This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever bought. I usually wear On Cloud or Brooks but have found my new favorite. I will be buying more.

I feel numbness in the shoes after 30 mins or so of what running but other than that, great cushion and sole.

Amazing shoe. I was looking for a replacement of other plated trainer (from a different brand) and couldn't find anything, except for the sonicblast! I am a big fan already of the Novablast / Superblast line, so figured this would be a good addition to the rotation. I was not wrong! Took it on a 7 mile treadmill run followed by a 14 mile long run outdoors and it killed it.

Additional callouts: laces are long and upper is comfortable. Ride is firm.

FYI - Cannot comment on durability as I've only ran in the shoe for a couple of days.

Fast, snappy and comfortable. Love using these for long runs with speed intervals.

Awesome shoe for my tempo, interval training. my foot is a bit wide so the narrow forefoot is snug..but other than that these shoes are meant for speed, foam stack is nice while the plate propels me into the future!!

The foam in the shoes wears out very quickly and is not very stable, which is a major drawback in a training shoe. I can say that the upper is of very good quality; it's a lightweight, agile shoe with excellent rebound. But it's far from having the durability of a Superblast 2.

I returned the shoes as they were too tight. Love the product, but it seems lately that some of the shoes are tighter in the toe area.

Despite the mixed reviews saying the running experience is stiff, it was not bad at all. I'd say slightly lightly firmer than the novablast 5 but wayyyyyy bouncier. Guessing this is from both the midsoles and astroplate, whatever it is, my mile time is night and day compared to my gel nimbus 27's.

I am an intermediate runner using them for speedier workouts, and even for long runs that involve more speed mixed in. The shoe shines more in the faster work, but there is still enough cushioning to make the slower miles feel fine.

Fantastic shoe that just needs a few small tweaks, on the customer end I would suggest getting new laces because Asics' usually just stretch and get strung out but I'd say thats very minimal, on the production end the tread started to peel early but customer service was quick to respond and replace them due to it being a warranty issue

Right out of the box these shoes felt light and lively. Have put them trough a few different runs from shorter speed workouts to some tempo runs. I have really enjoyed them so far.

These are great shoes for speed/tempo training. Good cushioning, I can see myself getting another pair when mine finally wear out.

Heel design is a bloody blistery disaster
I was so excited to get these that I signed up early for them. Originally tried a test pair on at my local running shop. First RUN was great up until my Achilles started rubbing pretty badly on the heel cup. Ended up doing some sprint/interval work and turned into a total disaster. Just took them out for my second run and same thing except now worse. Blood and blisters to boot. Issue otherwise feels really incredible. But the design team totally missed with the dagger of a heel cup that they put together. I don't know how anybody is able to wear these without it digging into their Achilles. R&D may need to go back to the drawing board for a 2.0. Less

Nice tempo shoe for shorter runs to complete my rotation which includes the Superblast 2 for long runs and the Edge Tokyo as my race day shoe. While the sonic blast is a good shoe especially after a break in period of 40 miles, it didn't have the WOW feeling of the Superblast and Edge Tokyo.

Perfect fit like all of the shoes in the Blast lineup! Nice pop in the shoe as well. Absolutely love it for tempo runs. Wouldn't recommend fo easy slow runs though. Long runs at a good pace most definitely though!

I gave 3 stars because shoe is high quality but not comfortable to run on maybe plate inside is too hard kinda of very firm in shoe. Megablast is one of the best shoe I have with no plate inside!

This shoe made me run faster without feeling like I was hurting my knees. Excellent balance of spring and cushion. This is my first plated shoe and has been great. Set PRs across the board in it. Just makes me want to and able to go faster.

Excellent running in these comfortable light, cushion and plated shoe
